Sunday’s NFL roundup – NFL football, NFL Previews, NFL standings

After 40 years of being pushed around and dominated by the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Cincinnati Bengals refused to be bullied any more.

The Bengals beat the Steelers at their own game in their own stadium, relying on a defence that smothered Ben Roethlisberger and the Super Bowl champions by holding them to four field goals, and using one big special teams play for an 18-12 victory Sunday that put them in control of the AFC North.

Shayne Graham kicked four field goals in the second half even as the Bengals (7-2) failed to convert opportunity after opportunity to take control. Bernard Scott’s 96-yard kickoff return in the first quarter proved pivotal as Cincinnati, despite playing the second half without ace running back Cedric Benson and failing to convert on the extra point after Scott’s score, followed up a 23-20 win over the Steelers (6-3) on Sept. 27.

By sweeping the season series for the first time since 1998, the Bengals effectively

Is chris cooley playing well?

Finally after the toughest whistle, after an afternoon with as many boos as cheers from the home fans, the Washington Redskins retreated to a very quiet locker room. Anyone walking in would think they had lost.
As tight end Chris Cooley put it: “Everyone was a little down in here.”
The Redskins narrowly avoided an unthinkable meltdown Sunday, beating the St. Louis Rams 9-7 in a result that leaves serious doubt whether Washington can stay competitive this season in the tough NFC East. Failing to score a touchdown against a team with only two victories since the beginning of last season was no reason to celebrate.
But that wasn’t enough to satisfy the fans, who booed even as the Redskins kicked the field goal that gave them the lead for good in the third quarter.

“I understand that they want us to beat the Rams by 40,” said Cooley, who led the Redskins with seven catches for 83 yards. “But we still won, and if we continue to win games, that’s

Top 10 Teams in 2009 NFL Power Rankings Week 11

As per my prediction the Ravens defeat the Browns on Monday Night. These 2009 NFL power rankings for week 11 might change if the Monday Night Football game between the Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns result reverses. Its almost Fantastic NFL in the regular season.

Top Team 10th:  Baltimore Ravens (5-4)
The Baltimore Ravens reenter the top ten at #10 this week. This is assuming that they defeat the Cleveland Browns on Monday night and will be modified if the Browns win. As the Ravens are 5-4, they recently defeated the Denver Broncos 30-7. This gives them the advantage for the final power ranking spot for this week.

The Ravens will play the Indianapolis Colts and Pittsburgh Steelers in the following weeks. Don’t expect them to hold their spot in these power rankings for long; the Ravens have struggled against stronger competition in 2009..

Top Team  9: San Diego

NFL Power Rankings Week 16: Comparing Teams to Christmas Holidays

NFL Power Rankings Week 16After the exciting week 15 of NFL, here I’m ready with NFL Power Rankings for Week 16.

We have been digesting the well known fact about Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints, which still remains on top in power rankings since long time.

This time, Vikings did good job on comparison with previous rankings. Expectations were really high on Green Bay Packers to be in top 5, but they could not stand upon. The unfortunate news about Dallas cowboys is about their shut down step towards NFL Playoff. I feel, it is tough for them to give important mark for this NFL regular season.

Jacksonville Jaguars are in 15 as of now which may fluctuate soon. How ever, they are not going to be competitors to Titans.

Finally, the worst team in the NFL is St. Louis Rams. Well, let us have a look over NFL Power Rankings for week 16:

(1) Indianapolis Colts

Is this really the case,he Redskins Improved as Much as People Think?

On offence, of course the team is better. His partner, Carlos Rogers, is also very mistake-prone. Rather than building a team through the draft, the team has constantly looked for quick fixes and tried to put together a championship team in one season. Cornerback (CB) Deangelo Hall is capable of picking passes, but he has shoddy tackling and poor mechanics. The new scheme will help out London Fletcher and Rocky McIntosh. New defensive coordinator Jim Haslett has instilled a new 3-4 defensive scheme, which doesn’t sit well with the run-plugging defensive tackle. The Dan Snyder era in Washington has constantly spelled doom for the Redskins. The biggest question mark on defence is the 0 million dollar man Albert Haynesworth. Even acquisition Joey Galloway is in the twilight of his career and wasn’t good enough for Pittsburgh and New England to keep him.The secondary will need to create more plays after forcing a league-low 17 turnovers in 2009. baseball jersey McNabb is

New Quarterbacks at the Helm in the NFL for 2010

As the 2010 NFL season approaches, and fans everywhere get ready to watch NFL football online, on their televisions or at their favorite stadiums once again, a major storyline to think about is the number of teams coming into the year with radically different faces at the quarterback position. Some are bringing star power and some are bringing youth and inexperience, but every quarterback on this list shares in the power to alter the fortunes of their respective franchises for years to come.

Washington Redskins – Donovan McNabb
The Washington Redskins are coming off of a disappointing 4-12 2009 campaign, and are looking to improve an anemic offense that only mustered 16.6 points per game last season. In the offseason, the Redskins acquired Donovan McNabb, the star quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles, for a second round 2010 draft pack and a conditional 2011 draft pick. They are hoping McNabb can come to Washington and provide similar numbers to

The Greatest Games Of Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins set the NFL single-season rushing record, and running backs Csonka and Mercury Morris became the first teammates to each rush for 1,000 yards in a season. The 1972 Dolphins defensive unit, called the No-Name Defense because Miami’s impressive offense received much more publicity, was the league’s best that year. In 1972 the Dolphins completed the NFL’s first perfect season, winning 14 regular season games, two playoff games and Super Bowl VII, defeating the Washington Redskins 14-7. QB Griese fell victim to a broken leg and dislocated ankle in Week 5 versus the San Diego Chargers and was replaced by veteran Earl Morrall for the rest of the regular season, but returned to the field as a substitute during the AFC Championship game versus the Pittsburgh Steelers and then started in Super Bowl VII. You can visit the largest selections of Dolphins Tickets online to view the said Miami Dolphins Schedule.

Miami rebounded from the 6–8 record in 1976
